Newlyn Fish Festival

Newlyn in west Cornwall is home to one of the largest fishing fleets in Britain, and its annual Fish Festival reflects this fact.
The festival is held on August Bank Holiday Monday around the harbour, and Hevva will be there performing on the Buskers Corner Stage on Mary Williams Pier. A good day out if you're in the area!

Festival Interceltique Lorient

Lorient Interceltic Festival

For ten days in early August we were honoured to be representing Cornwall at this year's Festival Interceltique at Lorient, Brittany. This is the largest interceltic festival in the world, with in excess of 700,000 people visiting each year, and it never ceases to impress.
With appearances on one of the main stages, a huge parade, a dance workshop, a visit to a care home, and several performances at the Cornish stand, we were kept busy, but it was all very, very enjoyable.

With some of our regular musicians tied up at another festival, we were privileged to have playing with us two good friends known to the wider world as the very talented MacQuarrie and Toms, who also played with spectacular success in their own right.  Thank you Stu and Jamie!

Hevva runs open evenings where anyone interested in learning or practicing traditional Cornish dance or music is welcome.
